The Short Read: My clients and their aesthetic visions for nuanced textile accents in home or office is the first great inspiration followed by the actualization of their vision through fabrication. Whether this is in residential homes, apartments, lofts, lake cabins, summer or winter homes ... or corporate settings, lifestyle boutiques, hotels, airbnb, vrbo these interiors each are memorable or have become known for their custom interiors and unique interior accents.
It's my great pleasure to realize my client's inspirations in finished soft home furnishings and upholstery.
The Long Read: With an artistic soul and designer's eye myself, I am frequently asked to "design" for clients.
The opening inspo can start with a scrap of cloth, a painting, carpets and rugs, a plate, a piece of glass... the view outside.
A palette is determined along with texture and performance needs. Workability of those materials chosen is considered, along with budget and availability.
Inspiration is never in short supply.
Here are a few of mine:
Nature (of course).
Clients environment or preferred environment - real or meta...
I personally love all the Olds...and have always loved pairing new with old. Old towns, old cities, old buildings, old houses, old furniture, old advertising, old cars, old people, old textiles, old audio equipment, old records, old films, old photos ... urban ruins, ghost signs, masonry and wood finishes/conditions...old dishes.
Bad art, good art, porcelain, ceramics, stoneware, iron frames and railings, recorded music, flowers, clear things made of glass and plexi. Windows, window display and window shopping, visual merchandising. Foods and flavor development as well as the art of the plate (I still want my own cafe!)
