Sewing Custom Soft Furnishings For Clients From My Prospect Park Studio
Soft furnishings are those textile/leather/vinyl accents in any room's decor that are sewn. Window treatments, pillows, cushions, sculptural furniture forms and/or installations, wall treatments, hangings, throws, bedding, table nappery, etc. They can be stationary or movable. I include most of these in my repertoire.
• Pillows - of all shapes and sizes with a variety of fills from down/feather (4 different blend ratios) to polyester fiber-fills and foams are most typical but also offer organic cotton and wool.
• Cushions -meant for SEATING and BACK CUSHIONS for benches, banquettes, open-framed furniture like wicker, rattan and danish. Cushions for outdoor furniture for sure!
• Ottomans, Hassocks, Pouffs, and Footstools - I partner with local woodworkers to design and make unique pieces that often need cushioning.
Custom Handmade Stools in 3 Sizes
Mama, Papa and Baby.
Medium size sits you at a nice height to the table or desk - like a dining chair height but this is a backless stool fully upholstered offering firm seating.
Large or "tall" stool can also be sat on but is higher... the perfect height to use S an upholstered side table - like a taborette stool
Small or "the baby" is The lowest height, closer to the floor to sit on in squat position or ideally as a footstool.
